The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly is one of my favorite movies. So while I was brainstorming for a way to categorize the Q-raunts I have dined in. I decided to put them into these three categories. Not so much based on their food but on their appearance.

The Good: These are the kind of mom and pop owned Q-Raunts that your average diner isn't afraid to go to. They are usually well lit, over decorated, and easy to find.

The Bad: These are more than likely a chain. Local, regional, national. Doesn't necessarily mean they make bad BBQ it's just that I believe that after a Q-raunt starts to expand it begins to lose some of it's soul and loses touch with what made it famous.

The Ugly: These are my absolute favorite kind of Q-raunts. They are often off the beaten path. Are the kind of place you pull up to and wonder if you'll come out alive. These places also tend to put out some of the best Q. Probably because they put more effort into cooking the meat than they do in decorating.
